monday.com has announced the launch of an additional building block in their work OS, Monday Doc. It is similar to the boards that currently exist within the software. There are, however, a few differences that were discussed when Monday Doc feature launched by monday.com South Africa.

Understanding the Monday Doc building blocks
The purpose of the monday.com work boards is to manage and monitor workflow. This requires certain data columns that will assist in monitoring progress. What the software lacked, was a space to share ideas and jot down notes not necessarily linked to the workflow. This data could eventually form part of the workflow process, however, until then, it needs to be stored somewhere. Monday Docs seeks to be the home for unstructured workflow. By using the two features alongside one another, it enables further productivity and collaboration amongst teams.
Monday Docs can be found at the workspace level in the left pane system. Simply click on the pane to create a document and let your creativity take over. You can also update sharing preferences as well as manage subscriptions – the same way which you do with monday.com’s boards. The new building block is also mobile friendly, which means that you can jot down ideas on the go. This feature is, however, currently only available in read-only mode but will be further developed for improved usability.
Monday Docs has a text category that allows for text editing and sharing while the media category allows users to add media content to their document. There is also a Work OS category that will be integrated into the boards and will allow external app developers to build their own blocks within this feature.
