So what is monday.com?

Monday.com is probably the most versatile tool you will find. It can manage all your projects and be used as a CRM, to manage advertising campaigns, track bugs, manage client projects and manage video production. There are probably hundreds of different ways to use it, and we have found that teams use it for almost everyone: from teachers planning their lessons to engineers building aircraft.

I would like to explain how monday.com is so different from other tools on the market. Several major differences make it something people can’t live without, and it replaces the many other tools they use, such as email, Excel, and other administration tools.

You need to focus on the processes required, not just the tasks

A static check box that marks a task as “completed” or “incomplete” does not provide enough information for team members and managers to know exactly where something is. Things are always more complicated. How about “postponing the day”? How about “I’m waiting for someone before I can move on”? These real-life scenarios are not part of every project management tool; are regularly announced outside the tool in email threads, meetings and discussions. We know things aren’t that simple, so monday.com focuses on processes. We facilitate the provision of information about a project or task in a structured way that can be replicated for future processes.

You need something visible, not text

Text is best when you’re sitting at a good book. If you’re looking at a text system – and they’re all text – you need to read everything you can to find out what’s going on. No one can understand where a three-month project stands out from the tasks it involves. Often we don’t even know where things are in the task. Even if something is “done,” there’s a lot we don’t know, so we ask, “Did you let anyone know?” “Did you send it?” That’s why we hold meetings and repeat long threads of e-mails to make sure we meet deadlines.
